Overlocker for Beginners Workshop - Saturday 26th September - 10am-3.30pm (4 spaces available)

Learn to love your overlocker - This day workshop is for everyone who has an overlocker but is unsure how to use it, finds the threading intimidating or cannot get the tension right. 

During the class, threading will be made easy and tension explained so that it can be set correctly.  You will then see how to adjust everything to ensure your overlocker makes a perfect stitch for everything you make. 

This is an introduction to how to join, seam and neaten a variety of fabrics and achieve rolled hems. At the end of class you will be able to use your overlocker with confidence. It will speed up the preparation and give your work a neat professional finish.

Date:  Saturday 26th September 2026

Time: 10am - 3.30pm   Please arrive around 15min before to settle in. 

Tea/coffee will be available throughout the workshop. 

Requirements  

• 4 Thread overlocker (must be in good working order)
• Foot pedal/power cable for your machine
• All accessories and instructions for your machine
• Threads x 4  Ideally in 4 different colours to correspond with the thread path on your machine
• Spare needles appropriate for your machine, size 70 or 80
• Scissors
• 1/2 metre of medium weight Calico cut into 6" Squares
• Pencil/pen and notebook for making notes

A Maximum of 6 students.  Please note that we need a minimum of 4 students enrolled on the workshop or it will be subject to cancellation. If we cancel the workshop we will refund in full.

Workshop and Classes Terms and Conditions

We require full payment in advance to secure your place. This can be done in person at the shop, online via our website or by telephone during shop hours.  Unfortunately, we cannot hold places without full payment. 

Our classes/workshops are non-refundable.  Please make sure you are able to attend before booking as our workshops have limited places available. If we have to cancel the workshop we will refund you in full.

In the event you cannot attend you may send someone else in your place. We will need the name of the substitute student in advance.

Please note that the workshop space is now downstairs and Rhiannon will carry your machine downstairs for you. 

All participants must feel that they are able to exit the premises with the minimal assistance in the event of an evacuation.
